This project was originally a dormitory for medical staff at the Taipei Municipal United Hospital's Yang-Ming Branch. It has now been converted into a day care center for elderly people with dementia. The existing partitions, dense plumbing, low floor heights, and regulatory compliance were all challenges that needed to be overcome. The interior is primarily divided into four areas:
The "Administrative Area" includes office areas, multi-functional meeting rooms, and an entrance hall with a warm atmosphere but strict access control.
The "service area" includes a consultation room, nursing station, light room, kitchen and accessible public bathrooms.
The public activity area includes a well-lit sofa rest area, a multi-functional activity area with flexible partitions that also serves as a hands-on teaching area, a sports area and a walking trail, and is equipped with invisible doors to maintain its safety.
The "unit care area" uses semi-open partitions with personal lockers underneath, which is practical and convenient for staff to care for.
