Tree of Life

The design concept draws inspiration from clusters of trees, leading to the creation of a vision centered around “acrylic treehouses.” This approach transforms the building into a piece of public art—its appearance shifting throughout the day with changes in weather and light. By night, the structure becomes an illuminated urban lightbox, serving as a prominent landmark within the Zhongli Night Market.

Seamless integration between the building, the adjacent park, and the surrounding environment is a key design priority. On the first floor, an open outdoor platform connects the building to both the park and the night market, encouraging fluid pedestrian movement and interaction. A grand staircase links the first and second floors, acting as both a functional and social feature that enhances accessibility and engagement.

On the second floor, a cantilevered platform extends toward the night market, further promoting public interaction and connection. On the opposite side, an activity platform faces the park and water feature, allowing users to immerse themselves in the natural scenery. These design elements collectively enhance the building’s role as a vibrant community hub that harmonizes with its urban and natural surroundings.
