This project is located in the dormitory area of Taipei City Hospital’s Yangming Branch. The renovation aims to transform the space into a Dementia Daycare Center, requiring extensive interior upgrades. Key challenges include dismantling existing partitions, reorganizing dense electrical and plumbing systems, addressing low floor-to-ceiling heights, and complying with updated building regulations—all to create a safer, more functional, and comfortable environment.
The redesigned space is organized into four primary zones:
-
Administration Area
This section includes office spaces and multipurpose meeting rooms. The entrance is strictly controlled to ensure security and privacy. -
Service Area
This zone consists of a consultation room, nursing station, X-ray room, pantry, and accessible public washrooms—forming the core of the medical support functions. -
Public Activity Area
Designed to promote engagement and well-being, this area includes a well-lit leisure lounge, a multipurpose room with moveable partitions (for activities or classroom use), and connecting corridors. Safety is enhanced with the installation of glass doors, ensuring visibility and ease of monitoring. -
Unit Care Area
This zone uses semi-open partitions to create personal deck spaces for each user, striking a balance between privacy and accessibility. The layout facilitates efficient care delivery by the medical team.
